Built for high volume, fail-safe data storage applications, the just-released DATAMAX 14000 RAID sets new standards in its class.  This industry standard 19" rackmountable 3U chassis RAID subsystem features 14 hot-swappable drive trays to give a maximum storage capacity of over 2 terabytes.  For mission critical applications requiring aggressive performance, total reliability and system scalability, the DATAMAX™ 14000 RAID is the obvious solution.

DATAMAX 14000 RAID Disk Arrays are intelligent Ultra160 SCSI RAID subsystems supplying fault-tolerant data protection and 100% transparency to the host operating system.  It is a fully featured data protection subsystem supporting RAID levels 0, 1, 0+1, 3, and 5, and is the ideal storage solution for applications requiring high data throughput, continuous availability, and flexibility in configuration.  For higher throughput rates, the DATAMAX 14000 RAID contains an Ultra160 SCSI host interface providing data rates up to 160 MB/second and is available a 3U rackmount chassis.

System reliability is ensured by an environmental monitoring unit which tracks the enclosure temperature as well as individual disk temperatures.  Hot swappable redundant power supplies are continuously monitored and high quality advanced cooling modules provide an optimal environment for high RPM drives.  If any irregularity in these systems occurs, the monitoring unit alerts the administrator with an audible alarm, by fax and pager.  Cooling of the subsystem is achieved via high quality advanced cooling modules designed for efficient cooling of high RPM drives. Reliability is insured with load sharing hot swappable triple redundant 300W N+1 power supply units with PFC. 

The DATAMAX 14000 RAID also features an embedded controller with a 64-bit processor and support for up to 512MB of cache.  It also supports SCSI features like Tagged Command Queuing.  Tagged Command Queuing allows the controller to coordinate with the host operating system as to how commands are executed.  This feature allows the embedded controller and the host operating system to coordinate command execution for maximum system efficiency.

Unlike PCI bus-based RAID arrays, the DATAMAX 14000 RAID requires no vendor unique drivers and therefore is operating system independent.  This feature provides the freedom of being able to upgrade your host computer is operating system without worrying if the device driver(s) are or will be compatible.

DATAMAX 14000 RAID comes with 14 hot-swappable drives and trays, and supports hot spare technology.  This feature allows the controller to automatically start rebuilding the data that was in a failed drive using the hot standby drive.  This feature minimizes the time that the array would be functioning without the protection of a full functional array.  For an additional level of reliability, the DATAMAX™ 14000 RAID contains a backplane design which eliminates the problems associated with cable interconnects.

With a menu-driven front panel display, a terminal serial port, real-time drive status indicators and an optional Java-based GUI interface, the DATAMAX™ 14000 RAID offers a variety of options for monitoring and management.  Together with innovative HA control software and automatic SCSI ID setting capabilities, the DATAMAX™ 14000 RAID offers massive storage capability in a quick and simple to set up package.  DATAMAX 14000 RAID delivers lower cost of ownership, user-friendly interface and exceptional levels of performance.
