Comtrol Interchange VS2000 8-Ports Remote Access Server
Description
InterChangeVS™ 2000 is ethernet-attached analog modem hub
Key Features
- Eight-port modem server with eight fully integrated V.34 modems, providing dial-in and dial-out capabilities for up to 256 users without compromising performance or throughput
- Virtually nothing to configure! (No IRQs, IP, or I/O addresses to define!)
- No dedicated communications server required
- Transforms remote access from proprietary technology to a flexible, "open” server-based RAS environment, providing the best of open architecture and the full-featured functionality of expensive, stand-alone proprietary modem servers
- Connects via an Ethernet segment and is controlled by a LAN “host” Microsoft Windows NT server, unleashing the remote access capabilities of the network operating system and providing location flexibility
- Cost-effective fax server solution
- Compatible with 3rd party software—each of the VS2000’s modems are installed as standard modems on standard serial ports
- Hot swappable—can be moved or replaced without shutting down the “host” server
- VS-Link™ software transparently links the VS2000 to the “host” server and NOS
- Eliminates distance issues associated with “expandable” multiport cards—can be attached to any LAN segment (multiple units can be placed on multiple LAN segments)
- Consumes minimal LAN bandwidth
- Can be used with LAN-to-LAN bridging
- Fully compatible and tested for use with Microsoft Windows NT
- Hardware reset—each VS2000 modem can be independently reset to a power-on state
