Digi International Digi Fiber-Twist converter/Duplexer MIL 140
The MIL-140 converters are unshielded twisted pair (UTP) to multi-mode fiber optic media converter designed to interconnect standard LAN-based Ethernet ports at distances of up to 2 km. The MIL-140T and MIL-140C convert Ethernet media without adding the delay associated with repeaters and will not add to your repeater budget.
Both units feature the LinkSentry Remote Sensing Technology, which enable the MIL-140T and MIL-140C to pass through line failures when signals are lost, as well as looping back failures, in the event one strand is damaged in a cable. The MIL-140T converter is equipped with an ST connector for fiber optic cabling; and, the MIL-140C The converter is equipped with an SC connector. The RJ-45 shielded connector is capable of supporting unshielded twisted pair cabling. The MIL-140T and MIL-140C are ideally suited for interconnecting high-speed, half- or full-duplex ports of switching hubs and routers such as those manufactured by Cisco, Nortel Networks, Hewlett-Packard, Cabletron, 3Com and IBM.
