The Compaq Remote Insight Board is a highly-intelligent remote management board providing continuous out-of-band communication and critical alert delivery. The Remote Insight Board provides an operating system-independent remote connection to managed server, allowing a remote PC to display all phases of server activity (including post sequences and OS load) without loss of connection. It allows remote administrator to reboot the server on demand; when system is functioning properly, system performs a graceful shutdown prior to reset; when the system is not responding, a cold reboot will be issued in order to bring the server back on-line.
